Join us for an exciting update on one of Egypt’s most important yet elusive ancient cities, Memphis! In this lecture, Dr. Didi El-Behaedi will share the latest discoveries from the Memphis Kom el-Fakhry Archaeological Project (MKAP), including the first securely documented in-situ Old Kingdom stratigraphy at Memphis, newly identified areas of Middle Kingdom occupation, results from an extensive site-wide survey, and ongoing site management efforts. Together, these findings not only deepen our understanding of Memphis’ early urban history but also underscore its continued potential for future archaeological research.
