Our Mission

The Sphinx Foundation for Archaeological Research (SFAR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides charitable funding and services for archaeological missions and research projects that further our understanding of the Egyptian past.  Through collaborative partnerships with archaeologists and researchers, we aim to shed light on the mysteries of the past and share these discoveries with the world.  Our organization is dedicated to preserving and uncovering the rich history of Egypt.

Welcome Message form the Executive Director

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The world is everchanging, and the increasingly limited funding

sources and budgetary restrictions faced by academic institutions

and museums, existing nonprofit organizations, along with rising

costs, make The Sphinx Foundation for Archaeological Research

a critical partner to ensure that academic research, fieldwork, and

conservation projects to explore and preserve the past continues

unimpeded.

The future will increasingly rely on strong partnerships with

universities, museums, and other leading nonprofits with similar

missions in the United States, Egypt, and elsewhere.  I hope

our work strengthens ties between Egyptian and American

professionals in the field and further advocates for equity and

integrity in the pursuit and transmission of knowledge.  SFAR will strive to further scientific and interdisciplinary approaches to address questions regarding the Egyptian past.

I would be remiss if I did not extend my deepest gratitude to the Board of Directors, our legal counsel and professional advisors, and many others who have generously donated their time and monetary support to ensure we achieve our mission in the coming year.

Lastly, as you explore our website and social media pages, please consider making a donation to support our partners in Egypt and all their incredible work.

Kind regards,

Daniel M. Warne
